It is still a slow connection even though the Globe Wireless vessels only has a CIR of 32/32 and burst of 256/128, wherefore you have to be smart onboard in order to give all a good user experience. Speedcast is a fully automated system with automatic beam switch and prioritized traffic control, the traffic (bandwidth) is prioritized as follows: A. VOIP B. E‐mail C. Crew WiFi The system will automatically decrease the Crew WiFi bandwidth when business e‐mail traffic is present, wherefore there is no need or benefit in switching off the Crew WiFi network. The Crew WiFi network is setup in such a way that a user will automatically be terminated after 60 minutes, this to ensure that devises are not taking up bandwidth if a user is not using his or her device.
